You may or may not be surprised to learn which one of these cars came first and which came last in this drag race performed at a disused airstrip in the UK.

As you’ve frequently requested with these videos, we’re not going to give away the winner in this four-way race between two very different BMWs, the traditional M4 Coupe and the gasoline-electric hybrid i8, the Lexus RC-F and the newest arrival in the market, Porsche’s Cayman GT4, brought together by Autocar and Pistonheads.

The Lexus RC-F and BMW M4 coupes share the same layout with a front-mounted engine powering the rear wheels, with the former using a naturally aspirated, 477PS (470hp) 5.0-liter V8, and the latter, a 431PS (425hp) 3.0-liter turbo’d straight six. In the Porsche, you’ll find a naturally-breathing, 385PS (380hp) 3.8-liter flat-six placed behind the cabin turning the rear wheels.

BMW’s other representative here is a different beast altogether, as the i8 is a carbon fiber-clad, technological showpiece for the Bavarians that couples a mid-mounted, turbocharged 1.5-liter 3-cylinder engine to an electric motor for a combined 362PS (357hp) and all-wheel drive.

Before you do watch it, let us warn you that you might find yourself frustratingly pausing and rewinding the video a few times to figure out who won and who lost…
