While the GT badge on older Renaults may not have meant much in the way of sportiness, the French company wants us to think otherwise of the latest Megane GT. Until the new (possibly exclusively five-door) RS arrives, this GT will be the fastest Megane in the lineup.
The automaker went all dramatic in the latest promo for the Megane GT, enlisting the presence of one contemporary RenaultSport test driver, Laurent Hurgon and a driving legend whose name is intrinsically linked to the brand, Jean Ragnotti.
The video shows hardly any driving action and it mostly concentrates on making a theatrical impression as well as hinting that the new GT is a car you can take to the track.
It looks fairly flat in the action footage showing it going through a hairpin on the Le Mans circuit where the ad was shot, but that’s really not saying much.
