Hot hatches have come a long way since the original VW Golf GTI made this segment a popular one starting in 1974.
In 2015, not only are they much faster (some rival sports cars in terms of performance), but also incredibly evolved from a technological point of view.
Just look at the latest-generation Renault Clio RS. It comes as standard with a 200PS (197hp) 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a six-speed dual-clutch transmission with paddle shifts, launch control and a gadget called R.S. Drive.
To help us better understand what R.S. Drive does, Renault Sport has released a new video in which test driver Laurent Hurgon, the man who drove the Megane R.S. 275 Trophy-R on its class lap record at the Nordschleife, takes us through all the driving modes that R.S. Drive offers.
It’s just amazing how many different settings one can get in a B-segment hot hatch nowadays.
