We’ve seen plenty of videos with James Bond’s latest ride, the Aston Martin DB10, but this is actually the first review of the movie car.
Carbuyer’s Mat Watson took 007’s car for a spin and, as you can imagine, found some unusual features in it, such as a flamethrower, super reinforced suspension and additional underbody protection for the engine.
The car rides just like a normal Aston Martin V8 Vantage, which should not surprise anyone because it essentially is a V8 Vantage with a custom bodywork and interior. It’s fun to drive, obviously, and the manual gearbox contributes to that.
The engine is the same 430hp 4.7-liter V8 from the V8 Vantage S, which means the DB10 goes from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.8 seconds – not 3.1 seconds as Bond claims in the movie.
There are other “downsides” as well: the cabin is noisy, the boot doesn’t open and it has no bottle holders. But will Bond care?
