Three years after it launched in Europe, Opel and Vauxhall’s Mokka sub-compact SUV is getting ready to receive a mid-cycle refresh.
If you like what you see on the existing model, then you’re probably not going to be disappointed from the facelift that will give the Mokka re-profiled bumpers, a tweaked grille, new headlamp and taillight clusters that adopt similar graphics to the latest Astra, and rectangular instead of round fog lights at the front.
Opel had the dashboard covered up on the rolling tester, but it’s safe to assume that it’s planning a few changes, including expected improvements to fit, finish and materials, as well as the introduction of the firm’s latest the Intellilink infotainment unit and an available Onstar connectivity system.
Don’t act surprised if you see a similar suit of cosmetic revisions on the Mokka’s North American sibling, the Buick Encore, which has also been spied.
The current range of engines offered in Europe will likely continue unchanged, but we could see the brand adding the latest Corsa’s new 1.0-liter Ecotec direct injection turbocharged three-cylinder petrol paired to a six-speed manual, along with the Astra’s 145PS (143hp) 1.4-liter direct-injection turbo four.
