The following video offers the clearest view yet at the all-new 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, scheduled to debut at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show.

The video shows about 100 next-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class vehicles parked in a yard, most likely outside the automaker’s Sindelfingen plant. While most of the cars were covered, some were exposed almost completely, with only the headlights, taillights and grille hidden from curious eyes.

The silhouette of the all-new E-Class is not a surprise though, as it follows closely the lines of the S-Class and C-Class, with seemingly very similar headlights and taillights too. The cars caught on tape are standard wheelbase models, but we know that Mercedes-Benz will also offer a long-wheelbase version, most likely developed for China.

Besides the new design and innovative technologies, probably the biggest update the next E-Class will see is the switch to inline six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, believed to produce between 200hp and 400hp.
