This should come with a “a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire one of the rarest Rollers ever built” tag line. It doesn’t.
Here’s why. Though it’s is a complete gem, and in theory it should not face depreciation, somehow it does. Thus this stunning, choachbuilt-automobile, designed by Pininfarina, is on sale for €1.45m ($1.6 million). Well, it was technically designed by Jason Castriota when he was working for the Italian coachbuilder, but the famous Italian house gets the credit – that’s how it works in the industry.
The Hyperion is based on the Phantom Drophead, though its design is much more flamboyant. It’s the sole example ever made, and it’s named fter one of the titans of Greek mythology, “Hyperion”, which translates as “The High One”.
This bespoke Rolls-Royce was originally commissioned by British collector Roland Hall and the bodywork is made out of carbon fiber except for the doors, which are made from solid wood.
Speaking of wood, the noble material can also be found on the rear deck, behind the seats, and in front of the windscreen, hiding two compartments.
Hall sold the car after one year of ownership for €4.5 million (roughly $5,000,000) and that means Al-Ain Class Motors’ offer is a steal. For its intended target group, that is.
