Apparently, Volvo can’t have a break from the leaks as it turns out the wagon version of the S90 reached the web ahead of its debut again thanks to a scale model.
Using the same methods as last time, an employee of a car model company in China managed to take pictures of a 1:43 scale model which reportedly shows the 2016 Volvo V90 Estate in its final production form. The pics were shown over at CarNewsChina.
The upcoming flagship of the Swedish company will be based upon the same SPA scalable architecture the XC90 uses and will be offered in petrol, plug-in hybrid and diesel guises, at least when the S90/V90 first launches.
The photos show a sleek wagon which uses Volvo’s traditionally big taillights, twin tailpipes and a huge sunroof across the cabin. It’s no secret that the company knows a thing or two about wagons and if the scale model replicates indeed the final production V90, we are nodding in consent.
The company recently announced the development of an all-electric model with a range of up to 325 miles and the introduction of plug-in hybrid variants across their range in order to boost its appeal across the globe.
The new Volvo S90/V90 is set to rival the established German players, like the Mercedes E-Class, the BMW 5-Series and the Audi A6.
