Volkswagen announced the official launch of its new T6/Caravelle Generation Six special in the UK market.
This retro-themed special version of VW’s popular people carrier features a two-tone red and white paintwork inspired by the company’s iconic camper vans of the 1960s paired with a set of 18-inch ‘Disc’ alloy wheels, further adding to the nostalgic aura of the model.
The exterior also features LED headlights and tail lights, front fog lights with cornering function, chrome detailing on the front grille, privacy glass to all rear windows and the obligatory ‘Generation Six’ badging on the B-pillar.
The cabin benefits from an Alcantara/leather upholstery paired with textile floor mats and a brushed dark silver decorative trim while standard kit also includes an adaptive cruise control with Front Assist, an infotainment system with satellite navigation, DAB radio and Bluetooth connectivity, a three-zone climate control system and heated front seats. The illuminated steps features special ‘Generation Six’ lettering and there is also a decorative insert across the dashboard to match the two-tone exterior.
The new VW T6 Caravelle Generation Six edition is available with two power outputs using a 2.0TDI engine paired with the seven-speed DSG transmission, with the base version making 150PS and the range-topping one making 204PS.
As for the prices, the retro VW T6 Caravelle Generation Six starts at £52,051 for the 150PS version and £54,547 for the 204PS one in the UK market with the first deliveries expected to start next month.
