Now you know the reason why Magnus Walker is called the “urban outlaw”.
It’s probably hard to keep your right foot off the gas pedal when you own a classic, modified 911, but you shouldn’t antagonize a widow-maker and jeopardize the people around you. Granted, the quality of the video may accentuate the car’s speed, but the outrageous driving style is all Magnus’.
That said, having someone record you while weaving solo through traffic, at high speeds, on the freeway, in the middle of the day, is the opposite of keeping a low-profile and, in all fairness, it isn’t as cool or as hardcore as you’d might think.
To make matter worse, Walker (almost) got served by a Honda Civic – although the 911 guru eventually shook off the Japanese car because “he had the handling” – or at least that’s what he said. On a straight freeway, yes.
The video is pretty old and apparently got re-uploaded recently on Youtube. Mind you, this isn’t the first time Magnus Walker’s driving style comes into question, as he recently was involved in an accident, damaging his iconic Porsche 911.
We’re not going to pretend that street racing doesn’t exist, as it’s a part of automotive urban culture (albeit underground), but we thought the Magnus-built custom-Porsches had a different cultural significance and purpose. A weekend-drive through a mountain pass would’ve suited the car better, instead of being thrashed around on the freeway.
