The updated and renamed GLS won’t be Mercedes’ only LA Auto Show world premiere, as the SUV will be joined by the facelifted 2017 SL roadster.
Mercedes isn’t saying much about the car other than it “gets a brand new look” with a “refreshed front-end” featuring a “diamond grille”, but you can already see that for yourself in the slightly darkened teaser image that was released tonight.
The new face brings the SL closer to the AMG GT with a rounder front end sporting redesigned headlamps, bumper and the aforementioned (reshaped) diamond grille – at least on this trim.
Earlier prototypes suggest that we should expect some less notable updates to the rear of the new tail lamp graphics and reworked bumper sort, along with new materials and details in the cabin, including a different steering wheel design, a bigger screen for the updated infotainment system, and new buttons for the center console.
The current hardtop convertible model’s engine lineup of V6, V8 and V12 engines should carry over largely unchanged.
