Even if the MK2 Audi TT has been retired for quite some time now, it doesn’t mean the model can’t still pack a punch, especially the RS Variant.
With a turbocharged 2.5-litre, straight-five at its disposal, chugging around 335 hp and 450 newton meters (332 lb-ft) of torque in stock-form, the machine was a potent proposition to begin with. So just imagine what a tuner like HPerformance can squeeze out of it.
Lucky you don’t have to let your imagination run wild, because the German tuner actually pushed the car and its engine to its limits and the result is outstanding. Granted, maybe not from a visual point of view, but power wise, this particular TT RS has achieved a remarkable level of performance, as it now develops 750 PS (739 hp) and 880 newton meters (649 lbf•ft) of torque.
As you might imagine, this kind of power surge doesn’t come easily, but after HPerformance mated a tuned GTX-35 turbocharger to an in-house developed exhaust manifold, an intercooler and a 90mm air intake, the TT just became a monster. Of course, the mods list is much more comprehensive, and it includes a high-tuned fuel pump, optimized injectors, a R8 ceramic brake system, as well as a 90mm Clubsport exhaust.
The total price for the mad tuning exercise? About €50,000 ($53,308), but HPerformance can offer you a turbo kit for just €9,999 ($10,660), which boosts the power to “only”600 PS (592 hp).
