Here’s a much better look at the next generation of Mazda’s mid-size crossover following the screen-shots we shared last night.
These fresh images that come to us courtesy of China’s Autohome show the sportier flavored successor to the CX-9 in the metal, painting a positive first impression on its bolder and edgier styling that brings it in line with Mazda’s latest products.
From the previously mentioned screen-shots we got our first look at the interior that has a handsome design with an uncluttered dashboard layout, while retaining the outgoing car’s seven passenger seating spread out in three-rows.
Mazda has said that the all-new CX-9 “moves toward a more premium design execution that befits a three-row midsize crossover SUV”.
While the Japanese firm confirmed that their new range-topping crossover will incorporate the latest fuel-saving and performance-enhancing SKYACTIV technologies, they stopped short from providing any specific details. However, reports have suggested that new CX-9 will get a turbocharged version of the firm’s 2.5-liter inline-four Skyactive gasoline engine in both front and all-wheel drive forms.
We’ll have full details on the new crossover on Wednesday at the LA Auto Show.
