Practical body styles, impressive engines, loud exhaust systems and fast driving. What more could you want from an Audi performance video starring the new RS6 Avant and RS7 Sportback Performance editions?
The two models were officially unveiled last month and besides getting more power, they received new styling cues such as the glossy black finish on the grille, slightly larger air inlets with the extra Quattro logo, a different diffuser at the rear and exclusive 21-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in 285/30 tires on the RS6 and 275/30 tires on the RS7.
Audi also offers optional carbon ceramic disc brakes, an Ascari Blue finish, RS sport seats, Alcantara and leather upholstery and carbon fiber trim. The adaptive air suspension was added to the package, along with an updated 8-speed tiptronic transmission and an optional rear sport differential with active torque distribution.
The 4.0-liter V8 twin turbo engine is now more powerful adding 45 PS (44 HP) more over the standard, to a total of 605 PS (597 HP) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque, up from 700 Nm (516 lb-ft).
The extra oomph helps improve the 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint which is now reached 0.2sec faster at 3.7sec, a true supercar time. The dynamic package lifts the top speed limiter from 250 km/h (155 mph) to 280 km/h (174 mph) in the RS6 and 305 km/h (190 mph) in the RS7.
The two models, along with the Audi S8 Plus, will be presented at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show starting on November 18. Prices begin at €117,000 for the RS6 and €121,700 for the RS7 in Germany.
