It won’t be long before we see the Bugatti Veyron’s successor, currently known as the Chiron, as reports indicate towards a 2016 unveil, but for now, there’s a teaser that surfaced online.
The newest info on the future hypercar comes from IndianAutosBlog, which claims to have an official teaser of the model. The sketch you see here was allegedly shown to prospective customers during several private events, including one that purportedly took place at the St Regis Hotel, in Dubai.
The car in the image has lines similar to the ones on the Vision Gran Turismo Concept and the prototype caught on camera a few weeks back..
The Veyron’s all-wheel drive and mid-engine layout are believed to be maintained and an evolution of the 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine will reportedly be added under its hood. The powertrain might develop as much as 1,500 PS (1,103 kW) and 1,500 Nm (1,107 lb-ft) of torque. Top speed should come in the neighborhood of 435-450km/h (270-280mph) and the 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint might take as low as 2.3 seconds.
The successor of the iconic Veyron will likely be produced in just 500 units and some 120 customers are said to have already shown interest in it.
Bugatti is expected to pull the wraps off the Chiron, the name of which hasn’t been confirmed, during the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, in March.
