If you thought that your racing wheel’s force feedback was a neat feature, wait until you see this $100k motion simulator from Force Dynamics.

Named 401cr, this hydraulic motion platform has been around for a few years, but now, the creative minds behind Force Dynamics have combined it with the Grand Theft Auto (GTA) V game.

They shared a video in which one of their guys takes it for a spin using cars, boats and airplanes in first-person perspective.  “It’s waaaay more fun than I expected, and hats off to Rockstar for the super-detailed physics. It’s brilliant stuff!” says the Force Dynamics employee.

It’s one heck of a machine providing 500lbs of peak thrust for up to 2gs of instantaneous acceleration (!), and offering a full range of motion to “simulate the experience of being in a car, plane, or pretty much any other vehicle”. The 401c comes with its own floor tipping the scales at around 1400 lbs (635kg), about 600 lbs of which (272kg) is its floor.

And with a near $100,000 price tag, you won’t be surprised to learn that corporate buyers are the company’s core market, though, we suspect that some of those rigs have found their way in oppulent man-caves.
