The “hypercar trinity” was close to losing a member last weekend as a Ferrari LaFerrari was involved in an accident in Hungary’s capital, Budapest.
Hungary, has its fair share of exotic rides but since it’s not every day that we get to see a crashed Ferrari LaFerrari, this story couldn’t go by unnoticed. The incident happened during the morning, on Vaci street, and it left the hypercar with significant damages in its front three quarters after its driver lost control of the wheel and slammed it into no less than 3 parked vehicles.
Preliminary reports are actually indicating that the red-finished model born in Maranello was fresh out of a repair shop (reasons unknown) and it will obviously be taken back to where mechanics will try and put the pieces back together.
The good news is that no one was hurt but the same cannot be said about the LaFerrari or the driver’s ego, who will definitely think twice before pushing the throttle hard in certain conditions and with cold tires. Damages don’t seem to be dramatic but considering that only 499 units were produced, the owner should expect a huge servicing bill.
This isn’t the first recorded crash of a Ferrari LaFerrari and back in 2013, one example collided with a truck in Italy. The second one has met a Volkswagen Golf up close, in Monaco, last year, and a few months ago, a teenage driver lost control of the wheel and hit the side barrier, in Shanghai.
