Lamborghini’s Huracan will reportedly gain a rear-wheel-drive version that will debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
The news comes from Autocar, which claims the rear-driven Huracan will be revealed at the VW Group night prior to the LA Auto Show, with sales to launch in the first quarter of 2016.
Lamborghini’s boss Stephan Winkelmann said at last year’s Pebble Beach event that they are indeed considering a RWD derivative of the Huracan as they constantly seek new products to keep the interest flowing.
The RWD Huracan is expected to be marketed as a more extreme and lighter version, carrying a higher price tag than the normal AWD model. Chances are that it will be a limited production model too. The last rear-wheel drive Gallardo was priced lower than the standard car and was offered with a manual transmission too, although we understand that this is not going to happen with the Huracan.
