Mansory performed its magic on the Maserati Ghibli, packing the luxury sedan with some aftermarket goodies.
I’ve always thought that Al Capone would be a Maserati guy and he’d probably drive a previous-gen Quattroporte, if he was still around. But since those days are long gone, and so is that particular ride, we have to focus on what we have. And it’s not half bad.
The Maserati Ghibli is the smallest and also the first ever diesel-powered car to wear the trident badges on its body, but that doesn’t mean that it’s not hot. This is the Italian automaker’s way of telling us that moving with times is the key to remaining competitive.
The four-door model has been around for a couple of years now and the aftermarket specialists from Mansory decided it’s time to bring some tweaks to it. These include the modified front bumper with lower splitter and new air intake surrounds, the different side skirts, the bootlid spoiler and custom diffuser, all made from carbon fiber.
Contributing to its unique look are a new set of 22″ wheels, wrapped in ultra high-performance tires from Vredestein, 255/30 and 295/25 in size front and rear respectively. Mansory is also offering forged wheels, size 9.5×20- and 11×21-inch with 265/30 and 295/30 tires.
Interior tweaks have been made too, like the new sports steering wheel, carbon and wooden trim, illuminated door sills, leather and aluminum pedals.
The best was left for last, as after Mansory’s tune, the 3.0L V6 in the Ghibli S produces 480 PS (473 HP) and 640 Nm (472 lb-ft), up from 410 PS (404 HP) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft). The Ghibli Diesel has been tweaked too with the 3.0l V6 delivering 310 PS (306 HP) and 680 Nm (502 lb-ft) compared to 275 PS (271 HP) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft).
