Not a lot of people would appreciate being pranked in a 650 HP twin turbo Chevy Silverado more than those who already work with the car and pretty much know its limits.
These guys had a blast filming this, that much is certain. The element of surprise is priceless, especially when dealing with a twin turbo system that according to Armageddon Turbo, will be able deliver up to 1,200 HP to 2014 and newer GM trucks & SUVs.
The system is actually due to be released this month and can accommodate the Chevy Silverado 1500, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Yukon & Yukon Denali, Sierra 1500 and Cadillac Escalade.
But let’s get back to the video for a second because it’s a real hoot. The guy behind the wheel actually is from Armageddon Turbo Systems and he took a couple of guys from a Chevy dealership for a ride by telling them that there’s a strangle whistling noise coming from his Silverado – yeah, no kidding!
It didn’t take long for those guys to realize that this is some type of prank, yet their reactions are genuine and quite rewarding, probably even for those trying to picture themselves in their shoes, because what can be more satisfying than transforming your Silverado “into the beast it was meant to be”, right?
Even though this truck wasn’t packing over 1,000 HP, getting 650 of them at the crank is still pretty remarkable and makes us wish we had some official acceleration figures to go along with the entertaining footage.
Another interesting thing was listening to the driver talk about how they drew some inspiration from the Nissan GT-R and the fact that it’s a brutally accelerating car. He goes on to point out that the Twin Turbo Silverado is also able to launch off the line with incredible force, spinning all four of its wheels.
