Renault’s hot hatch, the Megane RS, will soon get a new generation, and these pictures that popped up online have us wondering if they’re real or renders.
Here, the Renaultsport Megane features an aggressive front fascia, with an updated bumper and the RS signature positioned on the grille.
Its profile reveals a five-door body style (previous reports stated that the car will not be offered in a 3-door variant like its predecessor), and also shows the widened fenders, with what seems to be a small air vent on the front fender, and extended side skirts.
The rear end adds a roof spoiler, the same RS badge fitted below the Renault logo, a more aggressive bumper and a rear diffuser, which incorporates a twin-pipe exhaust system.
Last but not least, the key card carries a checkered design and has the Renault Sport lettering, sitting right besides the electronic parking brake. The image also shows golden trim, which will probably be found on other parts of the interior too, but doesn’t “say” anything about the transmission.
Under the hood, the new Megane RS should bring up to 300PS from a four-cylinder turbo engine, but this still has to be confirmed as the French-based company is keeping specs a secret for the moment. An exact reveal date for the new hot hatch is not known.
