Finding a classic car inside a barn, covered in hay and “wrapped” in rust is quite rare, to say the least.
However, when luck strikes, you may end up with a 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona in your possession. Since this is still an extremely rare model, as it was produced in just 503 units to homologate the Daytona body for NASCAR, its new owner will pay a small fortune for it even in this condition, as it’s expected to be sold from $150,000 to $180,000.
The classic muscle car was bought initially by a judge for his wife, and in 1974 it ended up with its second owner in rural Alabama, where it was found recently. Despite not wanting to part with his beloved ride, the old man was convinced that the Dodge Daytona needs a new home and, more importantly, a new owner, who will bring it back to life.
The model was painted in R4 Charger Red with white tail graphics, and it comes with the original nose cone, front fender bubbles, wide windshield trim and large rear wing. The historic patina is visible throughout its exterior, while in the cabin it has headrest-equipped bucket seats, door-mount stereo speakers added to the original factory radio, original chromed floor shifter in a center console and others. Under its hood it is equipped with a Dodge 440 Magnum engine, connected to a 3-speed TorqueFlite auto gearbox and 8 3/4 differential, and the odometer reads only 20,553 miles (~33,000km).
