Faraday Future, the little-known car company out of California promising to rival Tesla, has released a short teaser video of the first model it’ll introduce at CES 2016 in just five days time.

The video itself reveal very little about the car but does show it being driven around a racetrack, perhaps giving us a hint as to what kind of car it will be. Additionally, the clip reveals the company’s logo, some exotic looking carbon fiber components and a brief shot of a front wheel and the LED headlights.

Certainly the most revealing shot of all is the final one, looking forward from the door. The front quarter panel, wheel and presence of a front splitter with a prominent vertical element immediately reminds us of the Toyota FT-1 Concept, perhaps suggesting that Faraday’s first model will be an all-electric sports car rather than a direct rival to the Tesla Model S.

Whatever the case may be, we only have a few days to wait to see the car in the flesh.

While not much is known about Faraday Future, we do know that it has almost 500 employees, including a number of executives who previously worked for Tesla. What’s more, there are also designers from Audi, Lamborghini, BMW and Ferrari in its midsts and it is already planning a massive $1 billion factory in Las Vegas.
