Hot on the heels of creating the Fisker Rocket alongside Galpin Auto Sports, Henrik Fisker Design has announced that at next month’s Detroit show 2016, it will reveal a brand new supercar dubbed the ‘Force 1’.

While Fisker is remaining tight-lipped about the car, a number of important details about it have been released. Most significantly, the founder of Fisker Automotive has confirmed that powering the Force 1 will be one of the world’s most powerful naturally-aspirated engines.

If true, then there’s a strong likelihood it will be a high-displacement V12. With the exception of the LaFerrari’s 6.3-litre that receives electrical assistance, the 770 hp engine of the Ferrari F12tdf is the most powerful of its kind.

Elsewhere, Fisker also revealed that the powerful engine will be available with either a six-speed manual transmission or an automatic gearbox, with power sent exclusively to the rear wheels.

It is claimed that the Fisker Force 1 has been developed with a yet-unnamed American race car driver and that up to 50 examples could be produced in Michigan from April next year. A single teaser image of the car reveals that the vehicle will be front-engined, include dramatically flared wheel arches and from the top, bares similarities to the Aston Martin One-77.

In a statement, Henrik Fisker said “I believe there is room in the market for a daily driver that embodies all the attributes of the best track racing car, and the comfort of a luxurious sports car. Extreme power, great aesthetics and pristine handling make for a superior ride in Force 1, an American supercar.”
