Originally introduced into the United States with an $875,000 retail price, the Porsche 918 Spyder easily became the most expensive production car ever created by the German firm.

Despite that, all 918 examples quickly sold out with 297 examples of them heading to the U.S, easily the hypercar’s most popular market.

As with the McLaren P1 and Ferrari LaFerrari however, prices for the 918 quickly sky-rocketed as speculators and investors immediately began to sell their cars. Now 918s are selling for over double their original price and the latest example we’ve seen listed on eBay is one of them.

This particular example comes courtesy of Marshall Goldman Motor Sales, is located in Cleveland, Ohio and has a Buy It Now price of $1,859,900. While that’s a lot of money, this 918 Spyder is special as it has not only been installed with the optional Weissach aerodynamics and weight-saving package, but it also has a classic Martini Racing livery complete with the number 22 on the sides.

Interestingly, the car hasn’t been installed with the lightweight magnesium wheels included in the Weissach package and in these photos, it is sitting on the standard 918 wheels, very similar to those from the original concept car of 2010. Nevertheless, the stock wheels work perfectly with the futuristic design of the car and combine gloss black and silver spokes with silver centerlocks.

Inside, the car is bathed in luxurious black leather and includes contrasting green piping and embroidered headrests with the 918 Spyder badge.

As it has just 189 miles on the clock, this 918 Spyder could prove the perfect car for any Porsche enthusiast who initially missed out.
