Sales figures speak for themselves, as the Ford Ranger is the vehicle of choice in the pickup truck segment on the Old Continent.
Since the current generation was introduced in late 2011, the automaker’s market share has risen from 11.7 percent in 2012 to 23.5 percent in the first ten months of this year, surpassing sales of the popular Toyota Hilux.
The blue oval delivered 25,500 units in Europe in the first eleven months of 2015, a 32 percent increase year-over-year, proving the new design, plethora of safety features and gadgets and the 5-star Euro NCAP rating convinced more customers than the competition did.
“Ranger’s combination of all-round capability, rugged styling and safety continues to prove unbeatable. Orders for our new Ranger are already running ahead of expectations – with particularly strong demand for the flagship Wildtrak model featuring exclusive exterior and interior design and a striking new Pride Orange signature color“, said Ford of Europe’s Marketing, Sales & Service VP, Roelant de Waard.
Ford is reminding us that its pick-up truck’s standard safety equipment includes Lane Keeping Alert, Lane Keeping Aid, Traffic Sign Recognition, Adaptive Cruise Control with Forward Alert, Front and Rear Park Assist, Rearview Camera and standard ESC with rollover mitigation and trailer sway control. The “goodies” list has the SYNC 2 voice-activated connectivity system, Adaptive Load Control, Emergency Brake Assistance, Hill Launch Assist and Hill Descend Control.
The 2015 Ford Ranger has a starting price of €26,715.50 ($28,933), VAT included, in Germany.
