The upcoming ‘Force 1’ supercar is set to debut at next month’s Detroit Motor Show, but Henrik Fisker is expanding his experience beyond the automotive world.
The designer has announced a partnership with Benetti, an Italian shipyard famous for producing some of the world’s most exceptional private yachts.
Fisker’s work with the company will see him designing a range of 164 foot long yachts for Benetti, which will then proceed to create the architecture of the vessels and manufacture them.
So far, only a single sketch of the first Fisker-designed superyacht has been released. It shows a sharp and aggressive design complete with an expansive front deck and a cabin right at the rear. At any rate, we won’t have to wait long to see the complete design, as it will be revealed at February’s Miami International Boat Show.
All of the yachts will be made up of three decks and come complete with six guest cabins each, a private spa and a small beach club at the rear. They will be constructed from carbon fiber and a number of “other exotic materials.” They will also be fitted with solar panels as standard, while a hybrid powertrain (!) will be available as an option. Inside, the Benetti superyachts promises to include many sustainable materials as well as “state-of-the-art technology for automated controls and optimal power management.”
