GM’s Down Under division just took the wraps off the revamped Captiva, aligning the car’s design with the rest of the line-up.
With the launch of the subtly improved Captiva, Holden invites us to play “spot the differences” between the new car and the outgoing model on expert level. Okay, maybe we exaggerated, but it does require a second (or even a third) glance to notice them.
Featuring a new front grille, a revised front fascia and LED Daytime Running Lamps amongst a range of other updates, the “family friendly” Captiva effortlessly blends practicality with style – or at least that’s how Holden’s Executive Director-Sales, Peter Keley puts it:
“Captiva is a practical and flexible SUV, designed for families on the go that need the space but also want to look good and enjoy their road trips. Captiva’s new front grille and fascia give the car a strong presence on the road and the new body colored cladding combined with LTZ’s 19-inch wheels give it a modern, clean look.”
What Holden also likes to point out is that this freshened-up model simplifies its SUV offerings, combining the outgoing Captiva 5 and Captiva 7 variants into a single package. Naturally, that means the new automobile will be available in both five and seven seat options, although it will keep the same powertrains and trim levels due to their popularity among customers.
Complementing the exterior’s refreshed looks, the slightly revised interior has introduced a cleaner, more contemporary center console with an infotainment panel compatible with the latest MyLink technology, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity technology, as Holden’s Electrical Group Engineering Manager, Joe Sawyer said:
“Captiva’s new MyLink system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto phone projection technology is a class leading infotainment system allowing customers complete control in their car. Using the systems 7-inch color touch screen, steering wheel controls and voice command technology, customers are able to send, read and reply to text messages and calls, access music and navigate using Apple/Google maps effortlessly.”
The new model will go on sale at Holden dealerships in early 2016.
