Honda Announces Record Worldwide Sales For November

Honda is celebrating increases in its production volume, local Japanese sales and exports for November 2015.

Last month, the automaker produced a total of 410,278 vehicles in its factories around the globe, a 10.5 per cent jump over November 2014.

Of that, 72,416 came from Honda’s facilities in Japan, which is 16.7 per cent more cars than it produced in the same month last year.

For the first 11 months of 2015, Honda has built a total of 4,164,366 units, 0.1 per cent more than the same time period of 2014.

Beyond its production figures, sales across Japan increased last month to a total of 53,165. That’s 3.3 per cent more than Nov ’14 and comes despite a 1.8 per cent decrease in sales of Honda’s range of mini-vehicles in its local market. Despite rises in November, total its Japanese registrations have actually fallen by 14.5 per cent from Jan-Nov 2014.

Perhaps the most amazing figure released by Honda is its last month’s increase in exports from Japan to North America. Compared to last year, 6,887 cars were exported by Honda to North America which is a 1,802.5 per cent rise over last year.

Worldwide, 54,562 Hondas produced in Japan have been exported around the world, 82.5 per cent more than last year.

As production of the 2016 Honda Civic ramps up next year, these figures could further increase.
