The new generation of Honda’s Ridgeline unibody midsize pickup truck is set for a world premiere at the 2016 Detroit Motor Show next month ahead of a North American launch later in the year.
Just like its predecessor, the designed, developed and manufactured in America 2017 Ridgeline is essentially the pickup truck version of Honda’s Pilot, which itself, was renewed this year.
As such, expect it to offer a similar, if not identical interior and the same 3.5-liter V6 direct-injection engine as the new Pilot paired to either a 6-speed automatic or Honda’s new 9-speed automatic transmission and optional all-wheel drive.
“We developed this new Honda Ridgeline to offer something new and fundamentally better suited to the way many buyers use their truck,” commented Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of the Honda Division. “Ridgeline will deliver everything you’d expect in a Honda from incredible packaging and fuel-efficiency to top safety technologies and innovative, segment-first features.”
