Ever since Ken Block launched his very first Gymkhana video in 2008, he has shot to global fame and is now a household name among essentially all automotive enthusiasts.
While many may associate Block solely with his Gymkhana videos, he is in fact a successful rally driver having competed in the American rally championship as well as the World Rally Championship.
Arguably the craziest race series Kenny from the Block is currently competing in is the Global RallyCross Championship which despite only being a few years old, has captured the attention of gearheads around the world thanks to its fast-paced driving action, massive crashes, insane cars and famous racing drivers.
During SEMA week last month in Las Vegas, Red Bull hosted a GRC event and Block was there in his hardcore rallycross car with some lucky patrons having the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to ride shotgun with him. One of them was YouTube user ThatDudeinBlue and thankfully for us, he managed to film the entirety of his epic passenger ride with the racer around the course and even over a massive jump.
In terms of sheer acceleration, rallycross cars are amongst the quickest vehicles on four wheels, capable of hitting 60 mph from a standstill in less than 2 seconds, faster than a Formula One car. Add in some very durable suspension, exceptionally short gear ratios and a perfectly positioned handbrake, these cars really are unlike any other!
