Powered by a potent 4,4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, the BMW X5 M is one of the world’s fastest and most powerful SUVs. As a matter of fact, it typically outputs 567 hp and 554 lb-ft of torque which is more than enough to allow it to compete with much more expensive and lighter supercars.
Not threatened by the vehicle’s performance, tuning company Manhart Performance has unveiled its latest upgrade package for the X5 M which makes it even more insane.
Following the installation of a custom exhaust system incorporating new downpipes, stainless steel mufflers and 100 mm tips alongside engine software modifications, Manhart has managed to extract 700 hp at 6500 rpm and 665 lb-ft from the 4.4-litre V8.
While Manhart hasn’t revealed just how quickly its tuned X5 M can accelerate, it does offer to remove the car’s standard electronic top speed limiter, lifting its vmax from 155 mph all the way to 196 mph. All of these upgrades, including the de-restricted top speed will set customers back 7,500 euros.
For those looking for some visual improvements to complement the performance gains, Manhart Performance also offers 22-inch BBS wheels for the car, a matte grey wrap and a set of H&R lowering springs costing 1188 euros. If the customer so chooses, the left air vent in the dashboard can be replaced with an AWRON display showing important details about the vehicle’s performance, including a prominent boost gauge.
