Mercedes-AMG together with Forza 6 is looking to blur the lines between virtual reality and actual reality, as somewhat demonstrated by this video.

Those who have answered Microsoft’s call and purchased an Xbox One instead of Sony’s Play Station 4, will be able to drive the all-new Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe in the latest installment of the Forza Motorsport series, where both graphics as well as game physics have reached a whole new level.

The video’s description tells a pretty good story. You’re looking at the real C63 S Coupe, “meeting” its virtual twin and with the help of some very clever editing, they might even fool a couple of people for a split second.

Unfortunately, we as a technological society still have ways to go before coming up with a virtual reality that’s “virtually” indistinguishable from the real world. The fast-paced editing and quick transitioning between shots does help Mercedes keep this video interesting, though once you hit “full screen” and pay attention to the obvious game-like camera angles, it’s easy to spot which is the real car and which is the Xbox One car.

In fact, it would be easy to tell even if all the footage was recorded using Forza’s Replay Camera Angle, which does look more realistic when playing (or after playing, to be more precise) than pretty much any other angle.

Hearing the C63 S Coupe’s twin-turbocharged V8 unit is sure to be a treat, even if you’ll just hear it through your TV. Plus, with a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time of 3.9 seconds, this should also be one of the quickest cars in its category.

The C63 S Coupe is part of Forza’s December DLC, which also includes the heavily-requested 2015 Koenigsegg One:1, among others.
