In case you forgot about the G500 4×4, here’s a video to refresh your memory.
Mercedes-Benz took out the impressive-looking SUV for a new video that shows it climbing steep hills, going through deep pots and getting all dirty. The new footage might not be as impressive as this one, or as long for that matter, but it’s still worth it, especially if you’re into expensive off-roaders.
When we say “expensive”, we really mean it because the German automaker decided this summer to put the G500 4×4 into production and its price might surprise you, that is if you forgot about it already: €226,100, or about $246,832 at today’s exchange rates.
The Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4 is a four-wheel drive version of the G63 AMG 6×6. It carries a 4.0-liter V8 petrol engine rated at 422PS (416hp) and 610Nm (450lb-ft) of torque.
It has a 299mm wider track compared to the standard G-Class, an off-road reduction in the transfer case, three differentials which can be locked while on the move, a 450mm ground clearance and a fording depth of 1,000mm, which ensure grip on just about every surface touched by the 22-sized wheels.
The new Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4 will arrive in showrooms this month and it’s by far the most expensive version of the model yet, excluding the G63 AMG 6×6.
