As customers call for more personalisation options, automakers around the world have been launching and expanding bespoke divisions at a frantic rate in recent years. The latest company to do just that is Mercedes-Benz.
For a number of years, Mercedes-Benz has offered its customers a selection of cabin trims under the ‘Designo‘ label. Now, the German automaker has expanded the program to a standalone customisation division dubbed Designo Manufaktur and to launch the new and improved program, a selection of new options have been revealed for the G-Class.
For the ever-popular 4×4, Mercedes-Benz’s Designo Manufaktur division can create a never-ending array of exterior and interior colour and material combinations. Significantly, G-Class customers can now paint their vehicles in a number of matte shades while also having the option of painting the wheels in any colour imaginable. To allow the vehicles of owners to stand out even further, the roof can be painted in a contrasting colour to the rest of the exterior.
As you’d expect, Designo Manufaktur enables customers to tweak the interior to perfectly match their desires. This can include the option of having coloured seat belts, a bespoke roof liner installed, exclusive Designo leather available in a selection of colours as well as numerous alcantara elements.
While for now Designo Manufaktur is limited to the G-Class, it will soon be offered for other Mercedes-Benz models.
