The new Mercedes-Benz SLC has been given a fixed-top treatment in Shooting Brake style.
Unlike its bigger brother, the SL, which was envisioned in a Coupe body, this version of the smallest roadster made in Stuttgart has a more practical shape, with three doors and a completely different rear end. As usual, since we are talking about something that only exists in the virtual world, don’t expect Mercedes to come up with anything of the sort.
In case you missed our original story, the SLC is the replacement to the SLK and it brings some visual tweaks. Its range-topping version, the SLK 55 AMG, was replaced by the SLC 43 AMG, which sports a downsized 3.0-liter bi-turbo V6, rated at 367PS (362hp) and 520Nm (383lb-ft) of torque, connected to a new 9-speed gearbox driving the rear axle.
The updated roadster will also be offered in the SLC 300, SLC 200, SLC 250d and a new entry-level version called the SLC 180, which has a 1.6-liter petrol unit, producing 156PS (154hp) and 250Nm (184lb-ft) of torque. It will make its first public appearance at the 2016 Detroit Motor Show, in January, and will be offered for sale starting next spring.
