The Mercedes-Benz CLA sedan and Shooting Brake models are being prepped for a mid-cycle update.
Captured on camera, the prototype of the compact four-door coupe from Mercedes-Benz carries some light camouflage on its fascia, suggesting that this is where the automaker will focus with its modifications. The rear end looks identical to the already available version, sans the tail lamps that should get new graphics.
The more practical version of the model, the CLA Shooting Brake, was also filmed in a separate video. It too will get a tweaked face and rear end.
Previous reports indicate that the changes on the exterior design of the 2017 CLA, in its two body styles, will resemble that of the A-Class that received a facelift earlier this year. The cabin should be slightly tweaked too, with new front seats, a larger display on the infotainment system, an updated instrument binnacle and a different steering wheel.
The engine lineup is also believed to carry some minor updates, resulting in more power, improved CO2 emissions and lowered fuel consumption, while the range-topping CLA 45 AMG will maintain its recently upgraded 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo, rated at 381PS (367hp) and 475Nm (350lb-ft) of torque. An exact reveal date for the facelifted CLA hasn’t been announced yet.
