European safety specialists at Euro NCAP have published their findings on the new Citroen Spacetourer, Peugeot Traveller and Toyota Proace vans.
The three models are identical and, except for some visual tweaks, they share the same technical features, equipment levels and powertrains, so it’s no surprise that they received the same safety rating, the maximum 5 stars in this case.
The vans achieved an 87 percent in Adult Occupant, 91 percent in Child Occupant, 64 percent in Pedestrian and 78 percent in Safety Assist, after Euro NCAP tested the 2.0-diesel version. The rating applies to all three versions of the “business and family van”.
The three models are PSA Peugeot Citroen and Toyota Motor Europe’s attempt to offer competitive products in the midsize light commercial van, Combi and shuttle segments and, despite being officially unveiled a few weeks back, the companies have not yet released additional details on them.
The new Peugeot Traveller, Toyota Proace and Citroen Spacetourer will make their public debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, next March, and they will be produced at PSA’s facility in Valenciennes, France.
