Following its debut at last month’s Los Angeles show, the new Honda Civic Coupe continues to draw the attention of digital artists who are giving it the Type R treatment.
This rendered attempt was signed by X-Tomi who modded the high-performance Civic with a darker blue shade, along with a different grille, a more aggressive front bumper with an apron sporting red accents, wider front and rear fenders connected by updated side sills, darkened taillights, a different rear bumper and a larger wing.
The chrome accents on the window surrounds were dropped for a black finish, which was also applied to the side mirror caps, and contributing to its final looks are the new set of large wheels, with red accents, covering the high-performance brakes with red calipers.
If this was the real thing, then we could have talked about an updated interior with bucket seats, a sportier steering wheel and the Type R badging, among others, while the 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder powertrain from the current European hot hatch, would have been found under its hood, producing 306hp (310PS) and 295lb-ft (400Nm) of torque.
But don’t fret as we’ll see Honda’s first Civic Type R in the States by early 2017.
