The current Volvo S80 is just a day away from being replaced, as the Swedish-based automaker will roll off the new S90.
The flagship model will benefit from a completely new design as it will borrow the front end from the new XC90.
Leaked scale models revealed the “Thor’s hammer” LED daytime running lights and the new grille, along with a sloping roofline, the C-shaped taillights and dual exhaust pipes as well.
The car will ride on the Scalable Product Architecture (SPA), it will be longer and wider than its predecessor, and its interior design will bring the newest technologies from Volvo.
The new vehicle will be offered in two body styles, the four-door sedan S90 and the five-door estate V90, and even if its engine lineup remains a mystery for now, reports indicate that it will be shared with the aforementioned SUV. This means that we should expect the T5, the T6 and the T8 petrol, along with the D4 and D5 diesels.
Volvo will officially present the S90 online, via this live stream, and it’s expected to announce full specs on the car in just a day, on December 2, at 6.30pm CET (12.30pm EST). The model will reportedly make its public debut next month, at NAIAS.
