Rather amazingly, the current Volkswagen Polo has been in production since early 2009 but thankfully, a sixth-generation model is in the works and set to arrive in the coming years.
While few details about the new car are known, rendering expert Theophilus Chin has decided to imagine how the car could look in five-door guise, as the three-door bodystyle will be scrapped. Taking clear design inspiration from the latest VW Golf as well as the Volkswagen Sport Coupe Concept GTE, Theo’s creation certainly has us quite excited at seeing the new model released.
According to Heinz-Jakob Neusser, the member of the board of management for the VW brand responsible for development, the new Polo will be underpinned by the current MQB architecture, reportedly dubbed the MQB A0 for use with the Polo.
Power from the model will come courtesy of a selection of three- and four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines with a manual and dual-clutch transmission being offered.
