A couple of 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class prototypes reveal more details about their redesigned body.
Shot somewhere in Germany, the video shows two E-Class sedans with very light camouflage covering only some parts of the fascia and rear end, but being that the three-pointed star partially revealed the exterior design of the executive sedan last week, its look is no longer a surprise.
The front of the car will get an imposing chromed grille, new headlights incorporating LED DRLs with a similar shape to the C-Class and S-Class.
Inside, the entry-level models will offer the analog dials, separated by a 7-inch color display cluster, and an 8.4-inch display, with Garmin navigation system, in the middle of the dashboard. Choose the higher-end variants and two 12.3-inch screens will become available, giving the model a more premium and modern look.
Future buyers will also get to enjoy the energy-saving LEDs fitted throughout the cabin, with a choice of 64 colors for various personalization levels, an optional Burmester 3D surround sound system and three different versions for the new seat designs, offered on the Base, Avantgarde, Exclusive and AMG trim levels.
Official details on the engine lineup of the Merc’s BMW 5-Series, Audi A6, Jaguar XF, and Lexus GS rival remain unknown for the moment, but with the model making its public debut at the 2016 NAIAS, next month, a full reveal is expected to be made over the coming weeks.
