It’s small, it’s nice to look at (in concept trim, at least), it’s fully electric and it will soon enter production; we’re talking about the Chevy Bolt, which has been rendered here as the Opel Trixx.
The model doesn’t exist, but Photoshop manipulator Remco M believes that it has a good chance of hitting the assembly line as a competitor for the BMW i3, the Renault Zoe, the Nissan Leaf and the Mitsubishi i-Miev, under the Trixx moniker, a name used by Opel in 2004 for a city car concept.
The rendering shows a completely new front fascia, with different headlights, a redesigned bumper and Opel’s signature grille. The side remained mostly unchanged, except for some chrome trim and the filled C-pillar, while the taillights carry a new look. The Opel rims were added to the package too, to complete the design of the electric vehicle.
Opel hasn’t announced any plans to offer its own version of the Chevrolet Bolt yet, but the North American model is close to hitting the assembly line as it will be unveiled in production guise next month, at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). It will be made by GM in a strategic partnership with LG and it promises to offer over 200 miles (320km) of electric driving range. The Bolt is expected to be priced around $30,000.
