Mercedes-Benz took the facelifted SL from the real world straight into fantasy land by wrapping the roadster in latex.
The 3-pointed star’s model received the unusual wrap to promote the Autumn/Winter 2016 Fashion Campaign and Film event. It was created by Japanese designer Atsuko Kudo, who’s hand-made pieces have been worn by celebrities like Lady Gaga, Beyonce and Kate Moss.
American photographer Jeff Bark is behind the images that were shot in Miami, Florida, in a location that emphasizes the contrast between the sleek lines of the SL and the rugged-looking environment, for the “Obsession with an Icon” campaign.
If you were wondering who the supermodel is, her name is Natasha Poly and, you guessed it, she wears a matching latex dress.
“I’m very proud and honored to have become a member of this amazing family at Mercedes-Benz and to do this beautiful campaign, introducing this iconic car. I feel very powerful in this dress, like a superhero. I feel very strong and sexy at the same time.”
As for the Mercedes-Benz SL, it received a facelift that brings minor improvements to its exterior, more goodies to the cabin and a more powerful entry-level SL 400. The roadster was presented in Los Angeles, last month, and it should hit dealerships next year.
