A disgruntled guest drove his pickup truck through the lobby and into the front desk of a hotel in Alva, Oklahoma, narrowly missing two horrified employees last Thursday.
According to the Police, John Parsley, 62, of Gonzales, Texas, was upset about his hotel bill, so instead of just cooling off, he jumped into his pickup truck and drove into the hotel entrance, with the incident recorded on a security camera.
The hotel is owned by Kingson Christian and his wife, Rupal, who was one of the two women behind the desk when the Texas driver rammed through the front doors. Rupal reportedly had some pain in her head and back, but she was otherwise fine, as was the other lady standing beside her during the incident.
Speaking with KOKO news, Christian said that Parsley had checked in the hotel earlier last week, but his credit card had been declined twice, once during the initial check-in, and then on the second day, so he paid in cash. However, his card was then approved and Parsley feared that he might have been charged twice.
“I went to my office and wiped the transaction and got him the document saying the transaction is void, but he was not willing to listen and says, ‘I want my money right now,’” Christian told the news station adding that he thought the issue had been settled by Thursday morning.
“He comes back in the afternoon really, really mad and angry talking with my wife, you know, ‘I had this bad experience with Indian people everywhere I go,’” Christian said. “My wife told him you cannot judge from your past experience. He walked out of the door and threatened my wife … said ‘just you stay here and I’ll roll over, you stay on the desk and you’ll see.”
In the video footage, an officer is seen talking to Parsely in his truck, seconds before he rammed into the hotel. The 62-year old man was arrested on the spot and now faces charges of assault and felony malicious injury.
