Despite being launched 15 years ago and having at least 4 years of life left, the Lotus Exige remains one of the best drivers cars on the market.
Thanks to its brilliant chassis and suspension setup, the Exige along with its Elise sibling, is arguably the handling benchmark for all sports cars. That makes it a sensational track weapon.
At the Varano de Melegari International Circuit in Italy a couple of years ago, one particularly impressive modified Exige hit the circuit and despite the clip being a couple years old, it still gets our hearts racing.
The full list of modifications done to this Exige aren’t known but it is one of the range-topping Exige S models meaning it utilises a supercharged Toyota four-cylinder engine. Based on the engine and exhaust note however, it seems apparent this example has been installed with an aftermarket exhaust. It also includes a host of new aerodynamic components including a large rear wing, prominent diffuser and bold front splitter.
The interior has also been stripped out and now includes a three-spoke racing wheel and an exposed shifting mechanism.
As for as Lotus track day toys go, it doesn’t get much more perfect than this.
