While this isn’t the first Ferrari 458 Speciale we’ve seen rocking custom ADV1 wheels lately, it certainly doesn’t take a backseat to any supercar in the looks department.
To say that the 458 Speciale is a faster version than the, now defunct, 458 Italia would be an understatement. The body is more aggressive, the performance is better (0-100 km/km is identical to the 488 GTB), the handling more focused and entertaining – plus, it is powered by the last naturally aspirated V8 to come out of Maranello.
While the 488 might have more power and considerably more torque, keep in mind that the 458 Speciale weighs 1,290 kg (2,843 lbs), which makes it lighter than the 1,370 kg (3,020 lbs) new, turbocharged Prancing Horse. It’s not exactly fair to compare them, since the first is clearly a track-focused, more pure version of the standard model, but since there is no such variant of the 488 GTB yet, this will have to do.
The last car we caught wearing custom ADV.1 wheels was a Ford Fiesta ST. In this case, the wheel design is a lot more… interesting. These ADV05C Track Spec CS wheels measure 21×9.5 at the front and a massive 21×13 at the rear and are kind of reminiscent of Alfa Romeo’s “phone dial” design.
The two-tone matte black and polished gloss bronze do make for a fantastic combination, while the black stripes and tinted windows are, in our book, not half bad on the Speciale’s bodywork.
