Dressing up the all-new Audi Q7 in an aggressive body-kid and strapping on a set of 22″ wheels can only do so much for one’s inclination to go faster in a straight line.
Customers can order the aero package in two different configurations, either slim or wide, which means that either way you go for the front skirt, door strip attachments, rear skirt with rear muffler and end pipes, plus or minus the fender extensions.
You can also order the chrome ABT logo for the front grille and the ABT rear wing in case you feel like fooling anybody about this being an SUV.
In terms of performance, you can boost power and torque for the 3.0-liter TFSI 333 PS unit as well as for the flagship TDI 272 PS unit. Performance gains can also be had for owners of the 218 PS 3.0-liter TDI engine, but that’s not going to get you places as fast as the other two.
On paper, you’re looking at 325 PS and 680 Nm (501 lb-ft) of torque as opposed to 272 PS and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) if you’re driving the flagship turbodiesel Q7 – which is somewhat of a significant improvement. As for the petrol-powered TFSI engine, you’ll get to enjoy 410 PS as well as 520 Nm (383 lb-ft) of torque, as opposed to the standard 333 PS and 440 Nm (324 lb-ft).
No official acceleration figures have been released (yet) but it’s safe to assume that you’ll be hitting 100 km/h (62 mph) in under 6 seconds, since both standard 3.0 TDI 272 PS and 3.0 TFSI 333 PS Q7 models are nearly there anyway.
As for the car’s appearance, some might say that it’s about time the new Q7 got a bit more aggressive in the way it looks.
