Aston Martin has confirmed it will field a works-supported entry at the impending 2016 Rolex 24 at Daytona.

The Daytona 24 Hours will kick-off this year’s IMSA Weathertech Sportscar Championship and takes place over 30-31 January.

Aston Martin Racing will enter its V12 Vantage GT3 in the GTD class with drivers Richie Stanaway, Mathias Lauda, Pedro Lamy and Paul Dalla Lana.

Team Principal John Gaw said: “Racing in Daytona is incredibly important for a manufacturer such as Aston Martin and I am confident that we have the potential to compete at the front of our class. Our drivers are well-prepared to take on 2016 and Daytona would be the perfect place for them to seal their first result of the year.”

Beyond the works Aston Martin team, another V12 Vantage GT3 will be competing at Daytona, this time courtesy of TRG-Aston Martin Racing. The Californian-based team will compete with Santiago Creel, Antonio Perez, Ricardo Perez de Lara and Brit Lars Vilijoen.
