Apparently, “agile like a lynx” and as “quick as an avalanche”, the latest-generation Audi Q7 is the Yeti’s worst enemy. At least that’s what the automaker’s latest ad would like you to believe.
The unique commercial is set in the coldest and snowiest conditions in the U.S. and the latest revolving around a group of local villagers who say that one animal managed to scare off the Yeti, the mysterious beast claimed to inhabit parts of the Himalayas.
The elders of the village assert that three months ago, the Yeti disappeared with the emergence of the “quattro”, aka the all-new Q7.
The light-hearted video is a welcome relief from the serious car commercials frequently filling the airwaves. While perhaps not convincing prospective SUV buyers to purchase the Q7, it does showcase a more fun-loving side of the automaker.
The key stats of the latest Q7 are of course its real selling point. The most important development of the new car is its lightweight aluminum underpinnings and body panels that save a considerable 325 kg (716.5 pounds) over the first-gen model. The lighter body is then complemented with a new design and a range of distinct engines including a 3.0-liter diesel V6, 3.0-liter supercharged petrol and a 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder petrol.
